That was lolzy :3

Especially the black and white bit at the end. Sick as. Thanks for the special thanks - I find myself positively inspired (again) by your work.

5/5 yo!

Nogfish responds:

Haha thanks

no problem

That was pretty fun

Nice timing with the whole thing. It was sorta entertaining in an odd way - probably 'cause I know you through the forums.

I'd recommend trying to brighten everything up. All the gray colours were pretty...pretty bland. Also, the black lines were quite oppressive (especially in the background - they made the characters blend in with them). If I were you, my next step would be to try and liven up the colours and experiment with different coloured lines.

Keep it up.

TheCriminalDuder responds:

Different coloured lines? I'll give it a go.
Also, I think I'll add more lightning/colour bleeding in 'em too.
Thanks, I enjoyed this review. ^^

Oh Snap!

I remember you posting about this years ago. I was thinking about it the other day - whether I should make one or not.

Anyways. Not a bad job. You're better now than when you started it, so all constructive crit. would be wasted!

MetalDart responds:

Yeah, most of this stuff was done a LOOOOONG time ago.
I bet people will forget that.

Heh.

Funny premise and a pretty good script. The lazy delivery was pretty cool too. The audio was of a bad quality though and you really need to work on your lip-sync.

Not bad but not great ^^

Frogcloset responds:

usually lip syncing my strong point just couldn't get the mouths right this time.

Fun

As much as I hate to see my childhood heroes desecrated, that was quite fun to watch. The simple graphics and simple voice (very 'matter-of-fact' narration) all combined very well to make an enjoyable viewing experience.

Good job.

TXMStudios responds:

All I can provide is a simple thank you then. I dig your work, BTW.

Fun

While I think some of the visuals are overly-basic, the voice-acting had so much energy that I enjoyed myself.

Work on your graphics: Your lip-sync comprised of squares moving up and down;try to add some more definition to each character, making them all a bit more unique. Maybe I'm a graphics whore, but I think it would have added to the experience.

Enjoyable but still room for improvement. Keep it up buddeh :D

itsjms responds:

Thanks.

^^

Graphics: Considering you're aiming for a younger market, the graphics were great: colourful; interesting; and stylised. You did a good job in appealing to the child in all of us!

Style: The style and the graphics really complimented each other well. The emotions were apparent with each character in each situation and displayed through interesting means.

Sound: Nice use of music and sound effects throughout.

Interactivity: Replay button please!

Humour: not particularly funny, but it's quite inane fun. You won't laugh watching this, but it is entertaining.

I enjoyed watching this. Cute graphics, a moral-based story and some great sound throughout. I hope that this got you the grade you deserve with your Btec.

Cool.

The reoccurring characters make your cartoons seem that bit more fun. One question: Why does this girl, who clearly loves to rock, have such a pink and stereotypically 'girly' bedroom as depicted in episode two?

Continuity error!

:D

It was a fun watch with great character designs and animation. Can't wait for the fourth.

Foreverland responds:

Answer: Pink girly girls can rock too! Besides she's got a Jimi Hendrix poster on her door in Episode 2. That was my little bit of foreshadowing. :D

Thanks for watching!

An awesome addition to the portal.

There were a few 'staging' problems in this. For example, at the very end, when pico walks out the alley he walks somewhat further into the road than is depicted in the next shot. No big problem at all and I'm probably exaggerating it a tad, but it bugged me; thus you only get a 9 rather than a 10.

The style of the characters and animation was amazing - could you tell us who did what? For example, did one of you do characters and the other backgrounds?

Great submission, it's certainly a favourite. I also admire you for replying to so many of your reviews :D

An awesome addition to the portal.

The-Swain responds:

There were a few definite things that we can each take credit for, but for a lot of the 'toon, we actually both worked on the same parts simultaneously. For example, in any given scene maybe I drew the mannequins, Julian drew the keys over them, I did the betweens, he did the color, and then I add the sound. There was so much alternating going on at some points that it's hard to tell who put more into it.

Also, I don't wanna announce who did what, because if we hadn't teamed up then none of it would exist all. For that, I must say that we each did everything :)

I preferred your old style.

As said above, I preferred the style of your previous episodes. In the episodes prior to this one, there was a lot more fbf whereas in this one, actual animating was lacking (comparitively).

I'd also highly recommend that you move away from the 'One man stands on scene and another walks up an initiates conversation' premise. These guys don't just stand around. Where's the furniture in their house!? I'd also take the 'action' outside and into different areas - at the moment, it feels as though you're simply reusing the same lip-sync mouths, character animations and bg wihout actually creating anything new or specific for this piece. Of course, I'm sure you did work hard on this, but I'd like to see it being more apparent.

The sound was crystal clear - as usual. No gripes there.

Play and replay button - don't need anything else, so you get an interactive 10.

I'm not laughing when I watch these. Humour's hard to do, huh.

If I were you, I'd take a break from duck luck for a while - work on some completely different projects and experiment further with animation. I think that this will help you breath life into a project which initially seemed promising, but appears to be delivering the same package time and time again. I mean...We've had seven episodes now without any significant character development or story!

You can (and will) do better.

Snubby responds:

Yeah, I prefer my old style too. Lot's of people don't though. Actually, say out of 10 people that have given me feedback from episodes #4 - #7, you'd be the only one who prefers FBF.

I think that until the viewer is competent in FBF, they prefer to watch tweening. It's just the way it is, unless the FBF is really really good, they just don't notice.

Anyway, I really see the honesty in your review and agree with everything you say. Although, basically when writing a series though I admit I lack plot/development of characters, it's good to end up where you started. This one happens to be a two parter, because next episode everybody will have to run away from the neighbor or something because he's a murderer.

ANYWAY! I am starting a new mini-series,
Woozle and I merged, and since he is producing a somewhat lengthly cartoon, I have to keep myself busy until it is done (so that he can help me out with DL8, because neither of us can double project).

Anyway, I respect you and appreciate your qual. review.

Used to mess about with flash for fun, now do it professionally.
